Maybe you came here from TikTok after seeing my posts about how groovy and thoughtful Substack is. And perhaps, liked the Brutally Honest Abe content I’ve been posting for years. Either way, I’m thrilled you’ve found your way to this community.

Now, let’s get one thing straight. This isn’t a run-of-the-mill Substack. You’re not only going to get newsy items, commentary or personal musings. No, my dears, this is a space where truth and courage come together. Won’t Be Silent is more than just a smart title—it’s a declaration, a rallying cry, and a reminder that all our voices matter. It’s about taking a good, hard look at what’s happening around us and finding the courage to call it out, to challenge it, and to build something better.

You see, I don’t believe in sitting on the sidelines. Life is too short, and the stakes are too high. We might be having conversations from the edge of democracy, but perhaps we can look at it as an opportunity and a place of incredible clarity. From this vantage point, we can see what needs to change, what we must protect, and what’s worth fighting for. For instance, I’ve not stopped thinking about Tip O’Neill’s famous quote, “All politics is local”. This is how we can begin to put together the pieces we need to rebuild that bridge—the bridge to sanity, unity and true bipartisanship.

But this isn’t just about me. It’s about us! This Won’t Be Silent tribe is a place for connection, conversation, and hope. If you’re like me, you’ve probably felt a little out of place lately. Maybe you’re tired of screaming into the void of social media. Maybe you’re searching for a space where you can speak freely, learn from others, and—dare I say—actually have fun while doing it. Well, consider this as your second home.

Beyond reading my weekly posts, I want us to talk, to debate, to laugh, and to figure things out together. We’ll host group Zooms, become a guest on my podcast, share ideas, air our frustrations, and concoct something special.

Oh, and before I forget, I do have a book. Won’t Be Silent—Don’t Stop ‘til It Matters is part memoir, part manifesto, and all me. If you want to dig deeper into my story, my sense of humor, and why I started all this, it’s a great place to start.
