The Platner Platitudes Party

Something smells like three-day-old fish.
It’s the unmistakable whiff of the same tired platitudes we were force-fed during the Biden fiasco of 2024. Different candidate. Different crisis. Same nonsense.
Before yesterday, many of us normal people — the ones who actually believe women — were calling Platitude Platner out.
Today it’s finally happening.
For months, Democratic leaders embraced Graham Platner. They praised him. They endorsed him. They swooned. Bernie Sanders. Elizabeth Warren. Ro Khanna. Ruben Gallego.
And after Janet Mills was driven from the primary, kvetchy Chuck Schumer, the head of the Senate Dems, got behind the oyster farmer from Maine.
Even after Platner was calling for Chuckie to be replaced!
Ahhh… Americana, just like they pictured it. Swastikas and everything.
They looked into the cameras and told voters he was their candidate. Give us money.
Now the stench of the Dems rhetoric is stinking up the media, who are part of the problem — if not the biggest part of it. MS NOW, CNN, the Obama Losers’ Podcast, to name a few.
Gee, what changed?
The tattoo wasn’t new — Platner admitted months ago that he’d gotten a Nazi-associated symbol inked on his chest back in 2007, claiming he didn’t know what it meant.
Oopsie.
His DSA-flavored politics weren’t new. He was actually calling to impeach justices. The New York Times piece from June — in which three women described his behavior toward them as demeaning and, in one case, physically threatening — that wasn’t new either.
And here’s the one they’d love you to forget: back in late May, the Wall Street Journal reported that Platner’s own wife told his campaign he’d been sending sexually explicit texts to other women. His own wife. His own campaign. Before the primary was even locked up.
Believe all women? Not all all. Some. Depending.
They knew all of it. They endorsed him anyway.
Then on Monday, Politico published a detailed account from a former girlfriend alleging that Platner sexually assaulted her in 2021. Platner denies the allegation, calling it “categorically false.” And suddenly, the same leaders who vouched for him discovered their consciences.
The Platner Platitudes are on parade.
“The allegations are incredibly disturbing.”
“We take these allegations seriously.”
“Sexual assault is a red line.”
“The best path forward is for Graham Platner to step aside.”
Really?
Where was the red line in June, when the Times reported a pattern? Where was the disturbance when the tattoo story broke? The question isn’t just what they know today. The question is why they were so eager to sell him to the public yesterday. The schnorrers, simping for dollars.
Schumer and Gillibrand are now demanding Platner “immediately withdraw.” Why? Is having egg on your faces that unbearable?
The pathetic DSCC is threatening to pull every dollar from the Maine race if he doesn’t. What money? They threw the entire wad at Kamala’s embarrassing $1.5 billion campaign.
Elizabeth Warren — among the first and loudest to endorse him — now shamefully says he should “step aside.” Khanna and Gallego formally rescinded. Even Our Revolution, the organization Bernie Sanders founded, has pulled its endorsement.
And Bernie! Bernie — can you go away — Sanders. A full day later: still silence. The endorsement stands. Even John Fetterman went on national television calling on Sanders to apologize for pushing Platner in the first place. When your own party’s loudest voices are begging you to let go, and you still can’t, that tells voters everything about how these endorsements get made.
This feels eerily familiar. We’ve seen this movie before.
Haven’t the Biden Platitudes taught us anything?
Telling Americans to ignore that crusty old man walking the wrong way. We saw everything with our own eyes, yet the Dems wanted — expected — us not to believe them. And because we all drank the Dem Kool-Aid, we proved to be a feckless party.
We were told everything was fine. We were told not to question. We were told to trust the people in charge — right up until the moment the people in charge changed their minds and expected us to forget they’d ever said otherwise.
So now we’re getting accosted by the Platner Platitudes.
Defend.
Dismiss.
Deny.
Then distance yourselves when the political cost becomes too high. It’s “Man overboard.”
This isn’t just about Graham Platner. He’s just the symptom of the bigger disease.
TDS. Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Desperation for power.
Corruption revealed.
This is about a political culture — both parties, mind you — that too often asks voters to suspend their own judgment until the narrative changes. If party leaders ask us to trust their judgment when they endorse a candidate, then they owe us an explanation when they abruptly withdraw that endorsement.
That is all the proof we need to know the vetting process was bullshit.
They were seething to get rid of Susan Collins über alles. (The tattoo worked here.)
Warning signs be damned.
The real issue isn’t just Graham Platner.
It’s credibility.
No amount of platitudes will ever explain away a gross failure of judgment.
No amount of spin restores trust.
The Platner Platitudes have started.
And they smell like three-day-old fish.

Way to lose another seat. The Republicans don’t have to lift a finger-we shoot ourselves and call it moral high ground. Let me be clear: if a candidate supports:
Universal healthcare
Living wages
Housing access
Free college tuition
Total equity
Decapitation of corporate personhood
I WILL vote for them.
If he’s acted like a pig privately but keeps a woman’s right to choose so she doesn’t bleed out in the parking lot, if they support a woman’s right to vote, to divorce, to own property which is all under threat-I will vote for him so long as he votes for us.
We need to make our country so that it doesn’t actually kill us.
I’ve lived through decades of discrimination, of not being believed, of being silenced, shamed and degraded. I hate it for me and every woman. What changes it are laws created by people who believe in those laws-yes, even if they’re personally jerks.
Toulouse was a notorious asshole, should his paintings be banned from museums? Hemingway was a pig personally but his words have shaped my thinking because he was a brilliant writer.
I care about substance.
I vote based solely on policy and substance. I’m not interested in personal lives or if I “like” a politician.
Let the stoning begin.
Tyrants, tyranny, traitors, and treason don't abolish themselves. It's going to take all of us genuine true-blue red-blooded Americans under one cause, moving in one direction, with one goal. Freedom comes at a price, that means sacrifice. Who are the real patriots of American Liberty in this country?
We're free people, right?
Against all enemies and hazards.
That's the pledge, right?
Where is our integrity and honor?
Start up the militias.
Freedom calls the brave.
Revolution is the solution.
