Thank You To My Wonderful Substackers
Please Know How Grateful I Am To Share My Stories With You
I wanted to take this moment to say thanks for being here, opening my posts, commenting, liking, and just being you. At a time when so much seems wrong in the world, somehow, we feel right—at home, anyway.
When my first editor, Estelle, passed away, I reached out to you guys for guidance and support, and the most miraculous woman—Lizzie Ciccone—came forward and coached me through the end of the process of writing my book. There are still angels on earth—many right here.
Last week, my book, Won’t Be Silent—Don’t Stop ‘til It Matters, launched on Amazon, and it’s off to a great start. The initial reviews from several of the readers are overwhelmingly generous and loving. I cried a couple of times, especially when I got this video on TikTok, Liam, a 19-year-old boy whose life does not correlate with mine, yet he sent this. I was beyond verklempt. Please watch; it’s must-see TV!!
Now comes the uphill battle to spread the word and get the book read or heard, as the audiobook is about to launch. If anyone has suggestions or works in this arena and is up for helping me share my story, I’m game to Zoom and chat. Perhaps we can create a book club or a storytelling platform. I’m thinking of an organic campaign like that 80’s Faberge Shampoo commercial with Heather Locklear, “Where you tell a friend, and they tell a friend, and so on and so on and so on.” If you’re so inclined or have any suggestions, please email me.
