"Never Again" Feels Like Empty Words
We Said It After World War II and Again After 9/11—Yet, Here We Are.
Those two words have meant so much to me as a child and into adulthood. It always symbolized the tragedy my parents had endured during the war. A mantra that resonated because of the unimaginability of anything like the Holocaust happening again—especially in my lifetime. Now those words have morphed into “Never Again Is Now”, which seems like this ain’t the most opportune moment to use that expression because things are kinda sucky for Jews as we speak.
Frankly, it also sucky for non-Jewish Americans because the perpetrators of 9/11 are here among us, walking freely. They have galvanized the next generation of Nazi-like antisemites masquerading as peace activists. And when I say masquerading, I mean complete with faces masked, like some bad Halloween parade spewing hateful rhetoric. These Islamic wannabe terrorists are feeling connected to a mission that is misguided and dangerous. Jews are fearful and I beg all of you, remember, we have spines of steel. We survive every pogrom and inquisition. This too shall pass but not without us fighting back—tooth and nail—however and whatever it takes.
This barrage of Islamic terrorists who have infiltrated our college campuses and the US Congress will potentially upend this upcoming election because they are demanding to have a say in our national security policies. If this group of violent haters who scream “Death to America” and burn our flag get their way, I can assure you, it won’t only be the Jews using the expression “Never Again”. Question is: Will it be too late?
Hope not! Did you read my book yet?
