Or Are Democrats Being Hysterical Because They Are Democrats?
What does Joe Biden have in common with Norman Thayer, Henry Fonda’s character in the film, “On Golden Pond”? They are both cantankerous and have conciliatory wives, Jill in the case of Joe, and Ethel—played by Katherine Hepburn—in the case of Norman. Can’t you just picture Jill, who clearly loves Joe telling him every night, “You’re my knight in shining armor”. So, touching, that relationship. Please take a moment to watch this scene from the film.
It’s important to humanize the Biden’s current situation and put into context what must be going on behind the scene at the White House between POTUS and FLOTUS. They are not some garden variety old folks that we can toss aside and speak so poorly of just because we are democrats—known for never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity. In this case, the opportunity is standing in lock step and staunchly supporting our current candidate.
Instead we are no better than the league of bloviators and evil media naysayers who should be ashamed of themselves for trying to tear apart the very idea that the Bidens don’t deserve our utmost respect.
We owe it to the President who accomplished more in the past three years than what two-termers, Bill Clinton and Barak Obama had managed to do. Who knows, if it wasn’t for Joe, gays might not be currently enjoying marriage equality. So, zip it, girls.
Let’s all give them, especially Joe, the benefit of the doubt. He knows he’s old. She knows he’s old. He’s also far more with it that most people in America, and can pop wheelies around the GOP hack running against him. Literally.
Our plan for the November election is a redux of what we accomplished in 2020. NEVER TRUMP. If you are not on board for that, and willing to help usher in a known commodity with fascistic tendencies—fully supported by Christian Nationalists—then you are the enemy of the state and me.
I don’t care what your reasons are, what religion you ascribe to, what war you think Trump will help win. You’d be guilty of possibly the worst offense to humanity: not making America great again, rather, making America a Hungary or Russia wanna-be autocracy. Am I exaggerating? I sure as FUCK HOPE SO! And so should you!
So read my lips, whoever, whatever, is on the ballot come November against the lying criminal, promise me that you will vote for that. For today, it’s Joe Biden. What tomorrow brings? Who knows? Hit it Doris Day!
