Over the past few months, a slew of groovy, new friends and colleagues have subscribed to my Substack newsletter. Welcome aboard, I wanted share a few points of light to make you feel at home.

“Hello Gorgeous” also happens to be the first two words of my book, “Won’t Be Silent - Don’t Stop ‘til It Matters”. Did I steal it from Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl? Yes. What are you gonna do, sue me? Babs has always been my North Star. Both of our audiobooks landed on Audible around the same time. Can you stand it?

Writing and finishing the book allowed me to cross off the biggest, guilt-inducing item on my bucket list. So, if you enjoy humor and honesty, which is what I’m known for and do best, then you have found the right place and book.

Why I love social media has been it’s ability to create a community of like minds and kindred spirits to share stories. It’s a joy to interact with people in an effort to reach out and sometimes feel less alone. I’m especially honored after people read my book and share their feelings of the highs and lows they, too, have experienced.

[SIDEBAR] I started Abe Won’t Be Silent Substack because the algorithms of TikTok and Instagram had become progressively more violent and inconsistent. I’m not here to be accosted by a bunch of screaming, face-covered, wanna-be activists who like their warm milk and cookies delivered to their sponsored, make-shift tents. You know of whom I speak.

I take pride in being someone who enjoys bringing a smile to peoples faces—or a laugh—and a fresh perspective to the crazy world we find ourselves living in. This is going to be a rollicking ride of an election cycle. We’re gonna need to hold on to our hats and each other. And if, in the bargain, you can get a giggle somehow in the mix, well, that’s my job. We will get through it together.
