Carrie Fisher and Andy Warhol Walk Into a Bar
Imagine Their Fifteen Minute Conversations from the Edge
Carrie Fisher famously said, “Instant gratification takes too long.” She was joking-ish, yet with the onslaught of social media, impatience has become the unfunniest virtue we’ve all been signaling. And it’s taken its toll.
Meanwhile, Andy Warhol once said everyone would enjoy 15 minutes of fame — and in keeping with their edicts, I’m launching a new spoken word series: Conversations from the Edge.
Fifteen minutes. One topic. No filter.
And YOU are welcome to join me.
Let’s face it, war and indifference have divided friends, families, and lovers. Politics has become more dangerous than ever and somehow being kind seems to be out of fashion — whereas raging against the machine is in vogue.
This is a moment for reflection and reconnection.
Working with Carrie taught me an important lesson — talking things through. She was a brilliant conversationalist and the funniest person I had the joy of spending countless hours with.
Communication is the essence of mankind — and bottling it up leads to nowhere good.
So, tell me, what’s keeping you up at night?
What’s making it hard to get out of bed in the morning?
Let’s talk about the topics and stories that matter. Together.
I’m feeling the crush, so instead of a therapist, I’d prefer chatting with YOU — my fabulous community. People who know how much more we have in common than what divides us these days.
What won't you be silent about? DM ME!
Girl, you know I won't be.
Dr. Ruth never was!
Peace... literally & figuratively,
ABE
