Tennessee Must Be Their 'Come To Jesus' Moment
What happened in Tennessee yesterday with the expulsion of the two black Democratic legislators, Justin Jones and Justin Pearson will hopefully be the seminal moment this country needs. The story of the two Justins is more than a travesty of justice. It must be a turning point. The takeaway is an opportunity for these two dynamic, heroic men to rise to an even higher level of fabulosity while raising the consciousness of millions of Americans that otherwise are not engaged in civics and political discourse. What people saw yesterday—clear as a bell—is the outright corruption and racism in the Republican party. It also highlights the twisted MAGA movement partnering with these evil white morons at every turn, especially at the state level. The moving speeches made by the two Justins had me in tears, and their words and deeds stay with me because they reminded me of John Lewis.
The fact that more black men have voted Republican in the last two elections is mind-boggling. Are y’all insane? Wake the fuck up. White Supremacists are NOT that into you, and yesterday should be your come to Jesus moment. The GOP would enslave you in a nanosecond if they ultimately get their druthers. If you think you are safe in the bosom of the GOP or, better yet, the MAGA wing(nuts), think again. In fact, try actually thinking. Being in denial is the worst place to be in this particular situation. Sadly, you are denying who you are and becoming the best you can be.
In closing, with all these GOP idiots being anti-woke, I have news for them. Yes, the GOP is not woke, and happily, for us, they are asleep at the wheel of justice. They slept right through what happened yesterday. But let’s not poke the beasts. Let them stay un-woke and not see that gun violence is the number one issue in this country. They will make history for being on the wrong side of history.
Tennessee just showed us who they are! Let’s believe them and stop the KKK STATE!
